New Development Feasibiilty

Client: Private individual
Architect: Churchill Hui

Churchill Hui was approached by a private individual seeking to explore the development potential of land they own. The site, situated on the periphery of a settlement within the picturesque South Downs National Park, addresses a pressing need for housing in the area.

To ascertain viable development options while adhering to local planning policies, a comprehensive feasibility study was conducted. This study meticulously examined both constraints and opportunities, aiming to craft a development proposal that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment.

In deference to the existing low-density character of neighbouring developments, the proposal maintains a similarly low-density and low-rise profile. A key feature of the design is the introduction of a central public space, fostering community engagement and enhancing the overall living experience.

The envisioned development comprises 38 new residences, offering a mix of 1, 2, 3, and 4-bedroom properties, each accompanied by ample parking and expansive gardens. This emphasis on spaciousness and greenery sets the project apart from conventional developments, yet it harmoniously aligns with the unique attributes of the site.

Integral to a broader development appraisal, this proposal serves as a crucial step in guiding the owner’s future endeavours, providing invaluable insights and strategic direction for informed decision-making.
